When you figure out that it isn't anything they are doing, but it is just what's inside you. I have left and I have been left and to be honest, it is so much easier and quicker to move on when you are the leaver. Maybe because you've been leaving in your head for a while already? I don't know. But I agree with you on the well-wishing part. I will always care for a wish the best for the one I left and the one who left me. I think that makes us basically good people. :-) And the drinking part. Boy, that one is tough. The one I left has been sober for about 3 years, but he was an active alcoholic for 25. I don't know if it is possible to bounce back from drinking for that long. So, my sincere hope for you is that you hang onto your sobriety.
